The idea of love

I often wonder what the idea of love is... Because there could be so many things. Right? For some, it may be a sweet kiss on the cheek while for others, it may be having the same taste in music. Perhaps, a handshake or just a carefree dance in the rain would be the idea for some. Having a kadak masala chai from the nearest tea stall or enjoying at fancy nightclubs for many others. Nevertheless, sitting together in the school corridor or long drives after work or just late-night texting sessions can be your outlook.

It's amusing to think how a simple gesture like holding hands could mean so much to some and so little to others. Almost everyone has a different opinion on what love is supposed to be. And what do we expect from love? Wait! Should we expect though? No matter what, we still do. We expect it to stay forever. We expect it to care for us and make us grow. But most importantly, it makes us feel desired, and maybe that's what the feeling of love signifies... Feeling wanted, looked up to, and taken care after.

There probably is more to love and loving too comes to its own obstacles like developing the fear of losing someone. If you love someone, this is a constant fear in your heart. I feel that this fear is somewhat important because how will we value that feeling of love if we don't fear losing it? How will it delight you if it's easy to get and never to be lost?

Love is probably that feeling which you get when you are just very sure about something and you could turn the world upside down, just to feel what you felt a little more. But if people are so sure, then what leads to heartbreaks? Apparently, love just isn't enough to keep things moving. There could be a hell of a lot of love between two people but the circumstances might have been unfavorable just as we saw in "Five feet apart". Or there could be a failure to meet each other's expectations as in the case of "Gone Girl". Or supposedly, love has an expiry date. After all, even we do.

Love doesn't always mean having a partner or a boyfriend/girlfriend. It could be a friend's teasing or your parent's caring. Love is like jumping from a cliff and not knowing if you'll be able to open your wings at the right time and fly. It is risky but what will life be like without its risks and uncertainties. I believe that this feeling of love should be cherished and we should make the most of it as long as we can. Even a broken heart knows that it has experienced one of the purest feelings that it could. And in spite of all its ups and downs, that feeling is always worth it.
