Photograph

We try to collect all our memories in the form of photographs. Are you ever amused by the power of photographs because of the way they speak to you? Just a look at them and "Whoosh!" It's quite a trip down memory lane. The protagonist in the movie "After" said, "I don't think asking a bunch of arbitrary questions about someone's past is really gonna tell you who they are." And my first reaction to this was, "But they will tell you who they used to be and how they have evolved over time. And that itself speaks loads." The photographs do this job flawlessly. You can tell so much about a person by just having a look at someone's picture. Maybe, this is the reason an employer expects to see your picture on your resumé.

Most of the time, destiny speaks to us in the form of photographs. They remind us of that time when we were kids and how even little things like sitting in a potato basket gave us pleasure, the time when your dad made you sit on the driving seat with him and you would pretend to be a grown-up, or the time when your mom was so excited the first time you dressed up yourself. Eventually, these memories that we make keep growing on us. Sometimes, we try to become who we used to be and at other times, we try to change how we were.

I love how Ed Sheeran has portrayed the concept of a photograph in his song, "Photograph". I'll like to phrase some of its lyrics:
"We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
And time's forever frozen still"
We try to fit all our love into that frame of our cameras and mobiles, just so that we can relive those happy and funny moments later. On the spur of the moment, you enjoy dancing with your grandpa before he fell sick and how all hell would break loose when your grandma would hear you crying. Those pictures always help us recreate those moments of peace and happiness. They make us forget about all those troubling thoughts for a split second.

Have you ever wondered how these photographs teach us to always stay happy? We always click pictures in our happy moments, when we have wide smiles on our faces. Even your parents don't have many photographs of you crying like a baby, even though that's all we did when we were little. Ever realized how we always try to capture the jolly moments? We often forget to smile when we are sad. These photographs keep reminding us what the feeling of happiness is like and how every gloomy moment is always followed by a cheerful one. In the end, I would just like to add that an album of photographs is a box of memories. So, keep collecting memories and let the nostalgia entail you today and forever!

  2. I have been with you for over one year and we don't have a photographer together, means only you and me. I wish in future I would get this opportunity.
