Serendipity

I recently watched a movie named, "Serendipity", which means "Fortunate accidents". It made me realize how we come across so many fortunate accidents in our daily lives and don't really appreciate them enough. Just today, I was driving to my friend's place and something exciting happened. There were four traffic lights on my way there and as soon as I reached each of them, they turned from red to green, so I didn't really have to wait even once. It was such a small thing but it made me so happy. I told my mom about this when I returned and she said, "Now you can wait peacefully the next time you find a traffic light to be red, hoping that maybe the next one turns green as soon as you reach there." So, in a way, such little things help you stay hopeful and keeps you going.

Every time you meet a person and feel like keeping them in your life, it is serendipitous because even if it is for a short period, that person reflects hope and happiness. I've started working from the office, which is why I meet many people each time I go there. So, every time I meet someone, there are two possibilities- either we'll become good friends or act like we're good friends and will just bother each other professionally. And finding the people belonging to the former category helps you refrain from saying "Kill me!" to your team members, every time you end up working for 11 hours a day (if only I had a nickel for every time I actually say that). There's this instant click with some people. You just fit into each other's worlds like pieces of a puzzle and now you can't imagine your life without them.

You meet so many people throughout your life - you don't end up staying in touch with most of them. But these people gave you endless memories to cherish. Even though you might not talk to them anymore, each time you cross that road or eat pastry from that bakery, you're reminded of them. And in spite of the fact that you just knew that person for 3 days, they live in your memories. These people help shape you into the person that you're becoming. Don't you feel that sometimes these people were brought into our lives for a reason? Some were there to remind us that it's been a while since you had fun, so there you go! And some just to make you feel how being sad makes you appreciate the happy incidents in your life better. Let's take a moment to appreciate those around us and ping those who we miss and have lost touch with? Hoping you take a chance on serendipity, every once in a while!

  2. I feel the same, giving thought to these random fortunate accidents just makes everything so so fucking good in our life. Because my whole life I'm living right now is made up of good small fortunate events. Smallest to smallest thing which happened to me got me here. Even meeting you during lockdown was one of them. If I wouldn't have met you then I wouldn't have done XYZ thing and my life could have taken a different path. BUT it was destined to be like this. SUPER GREATFUL FOR EACH AND EVERY BEING I MET, Because whatever I'm today is because of them and you're one of them, thanks! :)

    1. It makes me so happy to read that small things have made such an impact on your life. And it's true that each person we meet brings about a different course of action in your life and makes us who we are today and that makes everything so much more beautiful.
